Hillary Morgan - Forteich was at the centre of a custody battle between her parents and was to become the centre of international media attention. Her mother, Elizabeth Morgan, spent time in a prison in the USA for refusing to tell the court where her daughter was during a bitter court battle with her ex husband, Eric Forteich. After nearly two years in hiding she was discovered living with her grandparents in a motel in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Up till this point no one in NZ was aware of the very public battle being waged in the US between her parents.

 

But once word got out where she was living, media from around Australasia and the US arrived on her doorstep. This image was one of the first of her, taken as she was being driven to school by her grandparents.
