"latest video"
The public chess board in Cathedral Square, Christchurch New Zealand, is very popular with locals and the tourists who stop to watch and take photos. This video is a mix of time lapse photography and video shot with the Canon EOS 7D.

My move into video has proved to be a very successful one. More and more of my clients are seeing the benefits of having informative or instructional videos on their site, and they have learned it’s a great way to communicate in a personal way with their clients.
Photography is still a major part of my business but it is a bonus to my clients for me to have the skills to supply both photos and video.
2009 has been a huge year in the photojournalist industry as the new breed of digital cameras have included the ability to shoot high definition video. The Canon EOS 5D MkII set the industry alight with its high quality video, so much so that longtime filmmakers became huge fans of the HDSLR.
Being able to use my kit of lenses (from 16mm to 500mm lenses) to shoot video has opened up a whole new world of possibilities. And the quality is amazing, actually too good for the internet.
I use both the Canon EOS 5D MkII and the Canon EOS 7D, which also shoots high definition video, on the majority of my assignments now. But some projects do require a different approach which is when I use my Canon XH-A1 HDV tape camera.
I am equipped with two wireless microphone kits, various handheld microphones, lighting and the software, Final Cut Studio 3, to produce videos for publishing to your site or on DVD.
In February 2008 I attended the Platypus Workshop in the USA. This course is run by two icons of American photojournalism PF Bentley and Dirck Halstead, both of whom made video part of their lives some years ago. The workshop is intended for freelance and newspaper photographers to learn how to shoot, edit and produce videos good enough for broadcast on television.
Here's a run down on the course I attended in New Orleans.

I am specialising in producing videos for your website, whether it is to:
- introduce a new employee
- promote a new product or service
- produce an instructional video for your products
- generate a monthly update on what is happening in your business or industry
- advertise and personalise your employment opportunites on company intranet
- use a video to enhance your presentation to clients or staff
We could produce a history of your company or video a milestone, a 25th anniversary for example.
If you are a national or international company, a video could be produced for your intranet to keep all staff up to date with the latest developments or new employees.
Got a trade show coming up? Want to have a video playing on a monitor on your stand? It's an excellent way to attract customers attention and sell your product or service.
If your website is unable play video files I can host them here for you.
Audio slideshows are another way of presenting your message. They are a mix of still images and audio, another ideal way to present your companys history for example.
There are many possibilites and with higher expectations from customers, they will get the information they want quicker and in a more personal way.
Please phone or email me to discuss the possibilities for your business.
